Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

Midland is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Midland is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

This place is the worst mechanical workshop in all of Midland, they are despotic people and scammers at the same time I went to do a replacement service of 6 coils and 6 spark plugs and they only changed the one that was defective but for more they broke the air conditioning support where the cabin filter goes, their solution was to vote for the place and not show their faces to face the problems caused.

This place will try to scam you! DONT GO THERE unless you want to just hand over money. My car AC wasn't working and I showed up close to the end of day, told me come back 7am and we'll get you in. I offered to stay (because I knew what had been going on) and had brought a part to repair it, but they insisted their driver take me home (where I was staying, I'm not from here) ...now I know why (so they can inflate labor time) They called several hours later saying that to repair it would be 3k and at least a day because they had to order parts. Ripoff. I went to another shop and they charged me $1200 with the parts that I knew were in stock at O'Reilly. Worst of all they wouldn't release my car until I paid a $300 diagnostic fee. Umm excuse me, I had just had an ac diagnostic the same week for $70. So glad I didn't let them work on my car but paying that much for diagnostic is a scam.

I've used Wall Street Automotive exclusively for servicing my personal and business vehicles since 2014. The office staff and counter guys are courteous, and helpful. The mechanics obviously know what they're doing because my vehicles issues are resolved, usually, the first time in. If more than one trip in has been needed, it's not often and it's typically a part replacement that is under warranty. I love the pick-up and drop off service. Highly recommend.

Please do not take your car to this place. They donβt do good work and they will overcharge you. I have to have my vehicle repaired from the work. They have done at the dealership. I was charged less money. The dealership let me know. They actually messed up a few things this is a warning. Do not take your car to this place.

On September 24th, 2025 by 1994 Land Cruiser broke down on the highway. It spewed all of the oil and coolant out on the ground. I quickly pulled over and shut it down. I had it towed to Wall Street Automotive. It sat for two weeks without being looked at. When I got back in town I went by to get my things out of it. I was informed it needed and engine due to rod knock. Apparently they started it and drove it in the shop with no oil in it. While there I started it with the service writer standing next to me. It wasnβt knocking. I asked them to figure out what was actually wrong. (I think the oil cooler gaskets failed.) Almost a week later they gave me a quote to do the oil cooler gaskets for $1050. That seemed fair, but they still hadnβt actually looked to see if that is what was wrong. I informed them it probably needed a radiator too. They called back and the quiet for the gaskets and to do the radiator was $2600. $1600 to do a maybe two hour job seems insane. I was told the radiator (aftermarket not OEM) is $700. I happen to know aftermarket radiators retail price is around $300-350. I was told, βThatβs just our price.β When I questioned it. I decided to just pick the truck up an
